Is this right for my business stage?
Built to Sell is for product-based brands that already have traction- meaning you’ve made sales, you know people want what you sell, and you’re ready for your store to do more of the heavy lifting.
If you’re starting from zero, this will feel premature. If you’re duct-taping a store that’s “fine but frustrating,” you’re exactly who this is for.
Can my store stay live while you build?
Yes. Your existing store stays live the entire time. We build the new version behind the scenes, test everything thoroughly, and only switch it over once it’s ready to sell.
We usually have just one day before our launch when the site will be offline once it's fully ready so I can connect your pages + product templates to the live site.
What do I need to have ready before we start designing?
You'll need products that are already selling (or have sold), and basic brand assets. I also recommend having high-res product photos and lifestyle imagery ready to go, since visuals play a big role in how the store converts.
We’ll also review what you already have — and what might be missing - on our discovery call, so you’re not left guessing or scrambling ahead of time.
If you need support with copy, I can connect you with trusted copywriters from my network. And if you want help shaping how your imagery shows up on the site, I also offer creative photoshoot direction as an add-on.
How involved do I need to be through the process?
You’ll be involved at a few key moments- strategy, direction, and review rounds; but this is intentionally a done-for-you experience.
I’ll provide clear, strategic templates tailored to your business to gather customer insights, define goals, and spot gaps, so you’re never starting from a blank page. Most clients spend a few focused hours per week during the early strategy and content-gathering phase- not their entire brain space. Once we move into design, your role is minimal. I build, test, and implement behind the scenes. During refinement, you’ll review and give feedback, and I’ll handle the adjustments.
How long does the process take?
The core strategy, build and refinement happens over 4 weeks, with clear milestones and support throughout. This keeps momentum high and prevents the project from dragging on for months.
After handover, I usually recommend planning for a 1–2 week hype and launch period to make the most of your website relaunch and turn the new store into immediate sales momentum.
Will this help if I mostly sell wholesale right now?
Yes. A strong DTC store supports wholesale in a big way -it builds brand trust, answers buyer questions, showcases demand, and makes your brand easier to say “yes” to. Many wholesale buyers check your site before placing (or increasing) orders.
If wholesale growth is a priority, the wholesale page we build does more than list terms. It helps buyers picture your products on shelves, understand how customers experience and talk about your brand, and see proof that your products sell; even if you primarily take wholesale orders through platforms like Faire.
When will I see results?
Some clients see improvements immediately after launch. Others see results compound over the following weeks as traffic, email flows, and repeat purchases kick in.
This is a system - it’s designed to improve performance over time, not just look better on launch day.
